So, what is the point of this post? I go through fazes which seem to be ever more frequent? as in I hardly write on here yet I have loads to write, some really funny stuff from many years ago, will try avoid some of the doom and gloom stuff.
That toe first started giving me problems in 1976 when David Nash stamped on my left foot, it hurt though thought nothing about it, long story short the toe started growing wrong. 1980’s arrive, I had to have the nail removed numerous times. It still did not cure, the nail carried on growing almost under the bone.
So, by 1994 the bone IP? joint had become none functional and would not move, the toe IP joint itself would hardly move, very painful. The medics decided it needed fusing of which they said should stop or slow the growth problem, which by then was severe arthritis.
The hospital was the Woodhouse Grove hospital at Apperley Bridge, back then I went in Friday and came out the following Wednesday. Two metal poles were inserted, I remember waking up and in the short period The Who were on a beach singing ‘I Can See For Miles’ I got wheeled back to my bed and started reading the Bible, bonkers.
When I went for the metal inserts removing a medic at hospital came with pliers. I looked and mentioned I hope he was not going to use them, he didnt, he went and came back with a brand new set and pulled them out, looked like a fountain!
The reason why my toe is currently fractured, well I might mention another time, I have been stupid.
