  • Scarves, hats and socks, love we colours!

    The thing is; we mainly dress to approve, we dress for the mood, we dress to say and we dress any which way, do we dress to improve? I think so yes, we can dress smart no problem, but to keep some of that humour, the body changes but the mind still creates;

I dread summer as it means no scarves, what a bind, but to keep cool, clothing is there, the nomads used scarves in the desert, erm, I think? hats, hmmm, its an old wives tale that wearing hats in the summer lost your hair, it really just is not true, what about all those women with, hmmm, what did they call them, after being to the hair dressers, arrggghhhh, you know, looked like fishing nets on the head?

I have no chance of ever being a fisherman, although I once had a ‘fisher’ and walked home from the hospital after treatment, what a pile of, that is another Stu story!

  • A few things but really

Its a big test, the cold is indeed getting colder! Friday’s are dress down times at work but I think it might well be a good thick wool jumper with tee-shirt underneath and dress up with those Doc Marten dealers! the cotton shirt will help keep me cool if it gets too warm, wool really does have the same properties in the warm as cold, hmmm, you get my drift? me too!

When sheep dress down they feel so cool, and I suspect they think they look so too? mind you, it is a little out of control for them, sometimes maybe they do feel like that shot in the dark?

Not to worry, just keep on pushing and if you try sometime you just might find, you get what you need, bah, or something else of being equivalent in-between…?

Jeez, you remember them? yes some pretty vacant in-between those there sideburns, or as was pointed out to me, the teddy boys called them sideboards, either way they kept my face warm like sheep, erm, forgotten where we were, ah ha, that’s it, keeping warm…

  • Do you really want to work?

A very interesting article, Beveridge report: From ‘deserving poor’ to ‘scroungers’? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-20431729

After experiencing an awful lot lately, a couple of things; ill or not we are thrown in the same bucket, how many times I saw folks hobble into a club/pub with a stick, have drinks then either forget which hand they originally used and/or forget the stick completely, yes I witnessed this many times.

Its a massive subject, I have been involved in conversations that simply say ‘why work when I get more on the dole’ iv heard much more. My doctors and consultants now class me as a one in ten sarcoid, its not a competition but its unofficially known 2/3 of folks who sign on have no intention of working. I have learnt how crap the benefits system can be, iv learnt that many who work there are very genuinely good folks, iv learnt that parts of the benefits system are very helpful, and iv learnt regardless of how ill they tell me I am I need to work, and thankfully I am.

It’s a cycle that is ever increasing, children are brought up in an environment with the single parent or both parents at home, tv with all the channels ever, full internet and on-line gaming, flash mobile phones, no interest in working, plenty of arguments, a possible volatile living, do you get my drift? and if that is all they know then potentially it will continue for generation after generation, give them the Jeremy Kyle lie detector…

Im quite sure the Beveridge report was genuinely about those who really did suffer the slums and such, once upon a time folks were really proud of the council house they got, they looked after it, the garden, the rooms, the neighbours – not always, as I can remember those who did not.

Yes, it goes without saying, many folks will never have the will to work, and even have a relative ‘ok’ living, is it the fault of them or is it the previous generations or simply the ‘system’

  • Hot chocolate jelly pop

Me and Matt tried an experiment, just to see if we could make a lolly pop out of hot chocolate and jelly, we never though about the getting ready photos but these were early the next morning.

Once we had used warm water to release the delicacy on a spoon then you can see the frozen jelly at the bottom and the frozen hot chocolate at the top.

The spoon held it firmly, it might even look erm, inspiring, the thing is, we never thought about photos of it being tried out, and yes it was vile, disgustingly terrible, never to try tasting again, the frozen jelly was abit too hard and the hot frozen chocolate was a little like vomit, someone elses…

  • Hats, socks and scarves, colours we love

Colours bring a smile to so many folks, nothing wrong with singular dull colours but I just love getting the crazy and daft colours to show personality is within.

By far the biggest hat I have ever had the pleasure in wearing, when walking around for some reason I do see folks smiling at me, I just can not understand it!

Absolutely the brightest hat I have ever worn, terrific, I will get more over time, these two are LOUDelephant, you should check them out, fantastically warm too, possibly the best natural wool hats available are LOUDelephant, 50 pence per hat also goes to charity.

A few more socks here, all are about 85% cotton, this seems to help with my feet, synthetics can sometimes seem to be a problem, hence all the new clothes especially for work, mind you, some of the smiles I get could be down to my socks!

  • Name that tune

Could someone please put me out of my thoughts of that I will never find out, today at the doctors, and for the third time running, this tune came on, none of the receptionists know what it is, they even said after my last visit the doctor came out to ask as I also asked him!!!

    What is this tune

Its a little rough as it is recorded on my Orange Rio, but the best times to turn it up are between 30 – 41 seconds, someone must know the tune!? I really do need a better phone now! Please someone put this misery to the opposite and make my day! I went to the doctors as unfortunately this morning I still did not feel too good after the Alendronic acid yesterday, it wont happen again and they prescribed me some stuff to help settle my stomach during the day.

We are to marshall my tummy! I really am doing everything and anything possible to ensure I can work well.

  • Alendronic acid

The worse meds for me seem to be the alendronic acid tablets, I used to take them on a Wednesday but since starting work I changed them to Saturdays, simply because, after I have taken them I can feel pretty rough for too long, thankfully they are just one per week, for those who do not know they are taken first thing with about 500ml of water, and then I must remain upright for a least half an hour, problem being, I forgot on Saturday morning so took it this morning, yes felt quite rough and bed soon, its early but that is certainly not a problem, this sarcoid rests as much as possible.

A little while ago I contacted my consultant about something that was beginning to get too embarrassing, as you can see he reviewed my latest scan, thankfully its not the sarcoid, they reckon the prednisolone can cause gastric problems, but I feel its more to do with the alendronic acid.

Last week I had bacon butties on four mornings, after each time I got some stomach pains, but the morning I had no bacon butty I felt ok, conclusion, I have decided to try something different in the mornings, as I can now sort of afford to do, but it might not be as tasty!

I am terrible with cereal in a morning, in fact any form of early morning breakfast, I aim on taking two breakfast bars with me and probably eat them on the train, its claimed a couple of these cereal breakfast bars in the morning can be really good for you, I will try, even after the bacon butty I felt sweats coming on, so it might be weekend only now!

I’m also going to have one of these Actimel drinks each morning, the overall target is to settle my insides for the working day ahead.

So I need to get appropriate treatment to counter a drug that counters another drug… Proper glad of works disabled toilet, its quiet and I certainly do not feel that embarrassing thought of someone listening to a hideous fart and ‘stuff’ ha…

  • Socks, hats and scarves, we love colours

For now I guess it is to keep this brief, but then what is that, these vary, though not briefs – thongs, or, hmmm, breath deeply…?

These really do appear my favourite, but then we pull others over our feet and…

What are your best thoughts for lots of colour on the feet? go get them, loving it, and I think folks like us can do the trick!

  • New additions to my moving on times

I still can not believe my luck, after so many negatives over many years, well, given a chance then a chance gets grasped, squeezed and taken, all part of getting on, the following weekends erm, surprises, well not really but I surprised myself!

I got this for half price, best electric shaver I have ever had, it can be used wet or dry, and so a great video in the rain on Ilkley moor arrives at my thoughts!

The most comfy of footwear, today these Doc Marten dealers got worn in big time, I had a forced run to the bus stop, quite impressed actually as my lungs did not know what had hit them in such a while, oh, they also go with my shrunk jeans!

By far its possibly the best coat I have ever owned, a Bellfield parka, mixing it between a furry mod parka and an M65 military jacket, though I love my Czech jacket, but it looks too new…

  • Baildon live at the lounge jam night

What a great night we had, myself, my eldest son Jacob and his bands drummer Sam, three songs played in the form of; Dust my broom, Johnny be goode, and Alright now, though I guess my lack of understanding on that thee five string bass threw me somewhat! a lower ‘B’ string, jeez I kept wanting to play it as the ‘E’ string! great laughs, good fun and a joy to play with those guys – Sam’s first time!
